Day 7 - Melbourne

Clint: We took the first flight out from Auckland to Melbourne. It took us a while to get our rental car situation figured out and get into the city, but once there, we headed for the Victoria Market. It was open air with nearly everything: meats, cheese, fruit, bakeries, leather, clothing, art, etc. Theresa enjoyed shopping and I liked the food! We ate lunch by buying several different things from the vendors and just munched it right there.

In the afternoon, we went to the site of the Australian Open tennis tournament. We saw Rod Laver arena and toured the hall of champions. Then, we changed into some shorts and played on one of their blue show courts: Margaret Court stadium. I beat Theresa 4-2 before darkness set in and our time expired, but it was really awesome to play on the same stage where so many great tennis players have been.

Friends of Theresa's family live just outside of Melbourne and have been nice enough to ask us to stay with them for a couple nights. We had dinner with them before crashing early (we are 2 more hours "behind" now so we're adjusting again). We're using their computer so no pictues yet, but we'll get em up soon.
