Theresa: Since we arrived so late last night, Clint and I decided to enjoy our “resort” accommodations today and use the time to plan our itinerary for our days in Cairns. We woke up to WARM and sunny skies. Our room overlooked a tropical pool with a waterfall. We had breakfast in the resort and took the resort bus to the city.
After looking over many brochures with the travel agent in the city, Clint and I booked our Great Barrier Reef cruise for the next day. Ocean Freedom would have a bus pick us up at our resort tomorrow morning at 7AM!
Our next destination was the Lagoon. At the end of the city was a man-made pool that backed right up to the inlet next to the pier and marina. I assume the man-made pool was built because no one could swim in the inlet because the tide doesn’t come up until evening. So all that was there was swampy looking mud. We walked along the boardwalk looking at all the shops and restaurants in this beach town and had a quick dinner at the Night Market before crashing early for our big day on the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow!
