Day 14 – Adelaide/Travel to Cairns

Theresa: Before we headed to the airport, we went to the Central Market. It’s only open on Saturday and it’s famous for its exotic fresh meats and fruits. The market was packed with people purchasing groceries and enjoying coffee and pastries at the many cafes alongside the market.

I was craving some rice, so Clint and I had lunch at a Chinese restaurant next to the market. Then we went back into the market to get some yummy pastries. With all sorts of ethnicities represented, we were able to try some foreign sweets. We took a quick tour around the central area of town before getting ready to leave Adelaide.

We returned Espacio, our campervan, and headed to the airport for a six hour flight (including a layover in Brisbane) to Cairns. We landed in Cairns to be greeted by Tom, who was sent by the resort we were staying in to pick us up. When we booked the resort this morning, it said that someone would pick us up from the airport. We both betted that we would arrive in Cairns without a pickup. To our surprise, Tom was waiting and he told us a lot about the city as we headed to our resort for the evening, The Colonial Club.
