Day 22 - Bondi Beach

Theresa - My favorite thing to do on the weekend is hit the markets for fresh fruits, breads, and cheese for a picnic. We found Paddy's market near Central Sydney so we bought some food and hit Bondi Beach, the surfer's beach closest to Sydney. It was true to its description as the surfers were everywhere, with at least a few catching each decent wave that came. After our picnic, we walked to each side of the beach (it is U-shaped between 2 cliffs). On each side, we were surprised to find man made tidal pools fed by the waves with folks swimming in them. At the point on the south end is a great lookout to the ocean and we finally caught a glimpse of a Humpback Whale! He was very far away and we mostly saw water spouts from the blow hole, but it was pretty cool.

We caught the train home just as a strong rain storm popped up. We cleaned up and went out for a nice dinner at a local seafood house.
