Day 3 - Rain, Kelly Tarlton, and Paihia

It rained ALL DAY today; sometimes light drizzle, sometimes heavy downpour. Therefore, we decided to do an indoor activity: Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. Not nearly as large as some US aquariums like the Georgia Aquarium, but much more personal. We saw presentations and feedings of penguins, sting rays, and various fish species; and the animals were all quite frisky.

We then made our drive to Paihia, which is a popular vacation spot on the beach. We stayed at The Allegra B&B, hosted by Brita and Heins.

We had dinner in Paihia and then went to bed. We awoke early the next morning and watched the sun rise over the hills across the bay and the Pacific Ocean. Heins made us breakfast and suggested activites for our next day...
