After sitting in traffic through Liberia, we arrived at Villas Sol. We were trying out a resort on the beach for this stay! Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we went to eat at a beachfront restaurant called La Casita del Marisco. The clear blue waters looked beautiful! Theresa ordered a delicious squid dish.
We went grocery shopping and checked in to our villa. We didn’t have an ocean view, but from our back patio, we had a Mountain View! We were going to go to the pool, but thunderstorms rolled in. So we cooked and cut a pineapple for dessert. The pineapple was so sweet and flavorful.
The next morning we ate breakfast at Coco Viquez. It was a Costa Rican buffet in which you did not order from a menu. It was laid out buffet style and you could choose what you want to pile on your plate. We loaded up on their sweet plantains!
Playa Hermosa had calm waves and warm waters! The sand just melted under your feet. We enjoyed a relaxing beach day. There were small fish jumping through the waves. At one point, we saw a small fish frantically swimming and then noticed a webbed dorsal fin appear out of the water chasing the small fish! Yikes! That was enough swimming for Theresa!
When the storm clouds started to appear, we packed up and went back to the resort to swim in the pool. We couldn’t decide if we should stay at the pool when we kept hearing loud booms. No one else around us seemed to be phase by them at all. Don’t think Costa Ricans worry about thunder.
