Day 20 - June 23 - Saigon

Our final day of the trip before we spend the entirety of Friday traveling (ugh). Theresa needed some more time at the markets so we started at A Dong Market near the hotel where Theresa purchased material for a traditional ao dai dress. She dropped it off at a tailor for pick up later that day for $10. After looking for some other souvenirs and trinkets without success, we decided to go back downtown and revisit the Ben Thanh market.

While downtown, we also took a walk and saw some more of the city's famous buildings, including the Opera House and the City Hall. We walked down Le Loi street, similar to 5th Ave with all the high end shops and expensive hotels.

When we got back to the hotel, we decided to hit the spa. I got a massage and Theresa went for a shampoo and haircut. They were both amazingly cheap. Theresa's dress had been delivered as well so you can see her above sporting her new dress and hair cut. The dress is tailored from the material that I picked out despite her mother's insistance that it was for "old ladies". Classically elegant I say. The massage was aggressive. Unlike American masseuses, they use thier feet and knees and even walk on your back while holding onto bars on the ceiling.

We had been having many dinners with family and I had hoped to catch a couple of Saigon's international restaurants so we had Indian for lunch at Tandoor and went to a French restaurant called The Refinery for dinner. Delicious.
