We had a four hour drive along the coast to reach Nga Trang today. Again, there were beautiful views of the coast. The picture above is a famous rock of a girl waiting for her man to come home from the sea.
According to Quang, our tour guide, Vin Pearl resort was built by a native Vietnamese person. He moved to Ukraine and got rich in the oil business. He built this huge resort which reminds us very much of Disney World. To get to the resort which is on an island, you have to take a speedboat or the cable cars. The resort has a waterpark, amusement park, a pagoda, mall, and an aquirium.
Since we arrived to the resort later on in the afternoon, Clint and I did a quick run through the Water Park and rode some of the rides. As most water parks, you have to climb quite a bit of steps to get to the top of the slides. Unlike most water parks, the steps were made of metal grates! Ouch on your bare feet after a few climbs! The rides were thrilling and probably would not pass American insurance standards as I found myself hydroplaning down some of the steep slides or colliding into the barriers at the end!
After the Water Park, Clint and I went to the aquarium in the resort. We were excited to see that the aquarium was built after the Kelly Tarlton Aquarium we had seen in New Zealand. Our favorite part was getting on the moving conveyer belt and going through the huge tank.
The one interesting that I experienced today at the parks is that there seems to be no sense of "waiting in line" in Vietnam. People just seem to push right through you or squeeze in to a space that you have left for some personal space. I'm learning to be aggressive and stay as close to the person in front of me as possible.
