It was a very rainy drive to Ontario on Father's Day Sunday. We were glad when we arrived at Campark RV Resort so we could park the RV. We picked this resort because it was right on the bus line to take us straight in to Niagara Falls. We decided to do an adventure pass which included 4 activities and two days on the bus. The weather predicted rain every day except tomorrow, so we decided we would pack the whole day full tomorrow.
The Niagara Falls side of Canada is called Horseshoe Falls. It was amazing! You could feel the mist from the waterfall as you walked along the viewing platforms.
The boat in the picture below is called the Hornblower Niagara. After we took the picture from above, we donned the famous red ponchos and hopped on board and got a close encounter of the Falls. This was on Theresa's must do list because it was her favorite moment from The Office when Pam and Jim get married (though they were on the boat from the US side). We had a great time getting splashed by the Falls while attempting to snap pictures and keep our cameras dry at the same time.
On our White Water Walk to view the rapids, we saw the Rainbow Bridge which connects Canada and the United States.
Even though we packed in our day, we fell in love with Niagara Falls. It was the perfect end to our adventure when we saw the rainbow over the Falls!
The next morning we headed back to Niagara Falls to finish our adventure package. Since it was supposed to be a rainy day, we thought it would be perfect for the Niagara Fury movie. As we entered the theatre, they gave us another poncho to put on. We were a little perplexed, but did as we were told. We first watched a little cartoon about how Niagara was formed during the ice age. Then we were hustled into another room where with 4D effects (snow, rain, trembling ground), we felt how the falls were created.
The skies were still sunny and blue when we left the movie, so we walked around the famous tourist strip Clifton Hill. Ariadne spotted the Niagara Skywheel and begged for a ride. Since it wasn't open in Texas, broken in Phoenix, and too expensive in Vegas, we acquiesced. We got a great shot of Niagara Falls on the US side while we were at the top.
