When you live in a moving house and the only stops you make are for gas and groceries, can make birthday surprises a bit difficult. Clint and Ariadne wanted to make Theresa's birthday special, but it's hard when we're all shopping in Walmart at the same time. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't deliver to an RV in a Walmart parking lot! As Theresa went grocery shopping, Clint and Ariadne ventured off to find gifts which they hid in Walmart grocery bags!
After loading everything into the RV and changing out a few blown fuses (now our stereo and chargers work) we were off to the Houston Space Center. We had to park with all the school buses on field trips. The center was full of interesting information on all the space flights from the past to present. There was an interactive portion of the space center that Ariadne enjoyed experiencing what take off felt like or trying to simulate a shuttle landing. Outside at Independence Plaza , we entered a Boeing airplane with a shuttle on top and learned how they redesigned old Boeings to carry shuttles to different space centers.
Theresa had picked out Galeston Island State Park for our destination for the evening. It was on the beach strip close to an amusement park and many restaurants. A few days ago when we checked the website there were plenty of spaces, but upon arrival, it was full! We ended up at Dellanera RV park a mile down the road. Can't complain too much because it was right on the beach!
Theresa's aunt and uncle pick us up at the RV site and we went to a seafood restaurant, Landry's for dinner.
