Day 28 - Reef Walk

Theresa - Every day we lay by the beach and look out at the blue waters over at the reef. Today, Clint and I thought we would "walk" out to the reef and see what it looked like over the reef. The ocean water was warm today as the sun was shining bright. We tried to find paths between the coral under our feet so we wouldn't step on it. We saw blue starfish and fish. I kept seeing cut up pieces of rope every now and then. Luckily I didn't attempt to clean up the coral because on the way back in, Clint noticed my rope moving with tenticles at the end!
I participated in a coconut bowling contest. The object was to roll 3 coconuts into a hula hoop. It was much harder than it sounded. After I rollled all three of mine out, the coordinator turned around and asked "Theresa's coach" to come bowl next. I'm sure you can figure out who that unsilent bystander is! :) None of his coconuts made it in the hula hoop either!

For dinner we attended a traditional Meke dinner ceremony. They served a suckling pig and other local Fijian dishes. After dinner, members of a local village sang and danced for us. Here's a short video of the performance.
Our journey is almost over. We fly home tomorrow, but our flight isn't until 10PM. So we're going to hang around the resort and make the most of our last day tomorrow. Happy 4th of July!

  1. Hey there! This travel blog thing is super cool! Didn't know that you could do that?! (Yeah, I am just a little behind on the times!) At any rate, just getting the low-down on your trip and it looks like you are having an AMAZING time! :) Lanchi
