Day 1-2: Paris, France

Our friends Tom and Jenn moved to Paris about 6 months ago, so our adventure started in Paris staying with them. Tom picked us up from the airport and took us to their apartment. Ariadne loved riding in the tiny elevator up to the 5th floor. She also liked racing up and down the spiral staircase to see if she could be faster than the elevator.

Jenn greeted us with a delicious breakfast of baguettes and croissants. The baguettes brought back great memories of our first trip to Europe. Our daily lunch would be to buy a baguette and some cheese to picnic in a park.

To keep us from falling asleep, Tom and Jenn took us on a walk around their Paris district. They lived close to Trocadéro Gardens which is across the river from the Eiffel Tower. Ariadne and their son TJ enjoyed the playground and carousel right under the tower!!

We stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed some crepes with eggs and meat. Then a desert crepe with bananas.

Our second day in Paris, we went to the French Open! It was a beautiful, but hot day in Paris! We watched the Bryan Brothers play, a women’s singles match, and another doubles match.
